Trip to Virginia

Gabi and I got back from our trip to Virginia last week. I couldn't find the cord to get my pictures on my computer so I finally have the pictures. Anyways We spent 7 days in Virginia. Gabi did very well on the 4 flights we had and I was grateful for that because They were all red eye flights. We didn't get much sleep the first night then to get us on schedule for Virginia time we stayed up all day the first day. We went to Maymont park the first day and I see why Jordan wants to fly there for his engagement pictures. Then on Thursday afternoon we left for the beach to camp. The campsite was beautiful and had all the amenities (We'd camp lots more if our campsites were like that). Well the first night camping was an experience... There was an Awesome thunderstorm but the rain that came along with it was quite unpleasant.

Our tent had me, Gabi, Rissa, Echo, Lanae, and Sasha. Well all the younger girls had fallen asleep and Rissa and I were the only ones awake. A little while into the rain Rissa kept saying she felt drops. So she came up on the air mattress with me and Gabi and we tried to get some sleep. A little later we still weren't asleep and the air mattress wasn't holding air so we decided to deflate it. By then the rain had stopped and we checked the 3 sleeping girls and Sasha's hair and pillow were soaked. We then woke them all up and checked and everyone was a little damp but when echo got up she was literally dripping. The whole bottom of half of the tent was a giant puddle. I gave all the girls that were too wet some of my clothes to wear and they all laid in a line in the deflated air mattress with the 2 blankets that we had left that weren't dripping wet and they fell asleep. Now there was no room left on the air mattress except by all the girls feet so i rolled into a ball and slid under the covers at their feet and got a few hours of sleep (it was about 2:30 by this time)

The next day, Friday, we spent most of our time at the beach, At lunchtime Gabi was getting pretty crabby from not having a morning nap so we went back to camp which was just a short walk away and gave her a nap and me a much needed shower. It was nice, our campsite was literally 20 feet away from the bathrooms and showers so I got Gabi to sleep and Showered. i didn't care if I got dirty 20 minutes later I just wanted to feel clean even if for just a minute. We did get a nap and got to go back to the beach. The night before Gabi walked right in to the ocean and today she didn't want to have much to do with it so I got her on a little raft where she didn't have to be in the water and we swam around for a while. Even Scared Aunt Kimi got it. We had a Good time swimming and soaking up the sun all day. That night we tried to crab fish but were unsuccessful.

On Saturday Sugarmama, Ginger, Me, Rissa, and Gabi took Brandon's car and went and explored. In the Process we found nauticus and the USS Wisconsin Battleship which was cool. Then we headed to Williamsburg for the rest of the day.

Sunday was Sawyers blessing and a much needed day of rest. We where all so behind from the plane rides and then camping.

Monday turned out to be the favorite! We went to Busch Gardens Theme Park. We had 5 adults so we were able to switch off babysitting all day while some of us went on rollercoasters and rides with the kids that could. They had some cool rollercoasters and lots of fun shows. I even got a picture of me and mom on a rollercoaster that I'll have to scan in next time I get a chance. If I had to choose a favorite part I think it would be the Ireland show. They had dancing, singing, and people playing instruments. I thouroughly enjoyed that whole 30 min show. Towards the end of the night time went by so fast and we only had about 45 minutes left so Kim and I litterally ran away from our kids so they wouldn't realize we were gone and went on the rollercoasters that we didn't get a chence to earlier. The Lines all day were short if there was even one at all so we just ran from one to the next getting straight onto rides. Then the Night ended with a really cool show/Concert. We had an hour or so drive home and finally got to lay down and sleep in.

Tuesday we were leaving at 8:15pm so we just hung out and did laundry then went and relaxed at the pool for a few hours. I got very burnt which was a bad idea because it was the tops of my legs and gabi was to ride on my lap the whole way home. By the time we had to leave for the airport my legs were as red as a lobster. The first flight we had a lot of room so she had her own seat and hung out. It was only 35 or 40 minutes so that was bearable. The next flight she had decided that she was tired and ready for bed so without a silky or binky she laid down and closed her eyes without a fight. I was able to get a little bit of rest in the 4 hour flight home.

I was so ready to see Victor and My Cyrus, He did well all week with daddy and had a good time being spoiled.

By the way Yes I did CHOP all my hair off. I keep seeing people and realize they haven't seen it yet...
